Should personal web page references change?
In the migration of accounts to SPDR systems, account names will change when the old account is not equivalent to the HawkID. Since so many /home/username and /~username things will break anyway, should we take this opportunity to implement a better way to link to personal web pages? For example, the root of all personal web pages could be:
https://space.physics.uiowa.edu/people/
with something like
https://space.physics.uiowa.edu/people/Larry_Granroth/
pointing to my personal web page. Ideally, https://space.physics.uiowa.edu/~ljg/ would redirect to the new canonical location.
A lot of things would break, but they will break for many accounts anyway.
